My name is Marius.. I've been in love with photography ever since I was a child and my father gave me a russian-made Omega toy camera for my 10th birthday. I didn't have money to spend on film, so I took my time with every shot in an effort to avoid waste. Through books and magazines I taught myself the basics of photography, and formal training eventually taught me the darkroom chemical process.

Today however, I shoot everything in digital, and process everything in Adobe Photoshop and Lightroom. Sometimes though, I miss the old days of yellow fingertips, mixing chemicals and rolling film onto the stainless steel spooler in complete darkness.

Recently I was bitten by the street photography bug, and now I take my Fujifilm X-T1 everywhere I go, hoping to capture that elusive moment in time that never seems to materialize. I maintain a blog where I write about travel and photography, so I invite you to visit and follow me at https://sipaphoto.wordpress.com.

Hope you enjoy my photography and content as much as I enjoy capturing it.

Marius is a curious photographer, occasional graphic artist and random blogger living in Southern California. He first got his feet wet after his father handed him an old plastic camera for his 10th birthday, a camera which he quickly outgrew.

Marius' photography comes from a combination of self-education and formal training, and has been honed through his passion for the art over the years. Although Marius does not like shooting professionally because, quote, "Doing it for money always took away from my passion for it. Best way to describe it is like this: I love to travel to beautiful, exotic locations, but if I had to make a living there, they would no longer be beautiful and exotic to me."

Today Marius shoots slower, taking more time on compositions instead of "from the hip", and he chooses to shoot exclusively with the Fujifilm X-T1 camera. He says, "Showing up with a big DSLR and that giant eye of a lens always draws frowning looks on the street. With the X-T1 though, almost nobody notices the camera, and I love that. The results I get are honest."
